How do I verify the status of my application once fingerprints have been sent for submission?
Contact Civil Fingerprinting Screening Services e-mail at
civilnps@rcmp-grc.gc.ca and provide the following information:
- Your full name and date of birth
- The date and the reason you sent the application
- Whether the processing fee was included (if applicable)
-
Can I submit my application or receive the results by phone, facsimile or e-mail?
No. Civil Fingerprinting Screening Services (CFSS) conducts criminal
record checks based on comparison of original fingerprint forms. Civil
Fingerprinting Screening Services (CFSS ) cannot perform checks
using facsimile copies, photocopies or computer printouts.
Civil Fingerprinting Screening Services (CFSS) is not authorized to
release criminal record check information by phone, fax or e-mail since
we cannot confirm the identity of the recipient. All results are returned
by mail and are certified to the fingerprint form.
-
Is it true I will get my results within 72 hours for fingerprint submission?
No, although electronic fingerprinting and electronic conversion do
expedite the initial submission, everyone receives the result by mail.
The 72 hour time line is strictly for a “no hit” whereby the results are
mailed back. If it is determined an individual has a “hit,” meaning
possible convictions, it is then significantly longer, up to 120 days for
the result to be mailed to the applicant. Civil Fingerprinting Screening
Services do not utilize a courier service.
-
How long does the process take?
It can take as little as 15-30 minutes.
